Mike has lived in Wivenhoe for 29 years having moved here with his wife and two daughters, who now live in Wivenhoe with their own children. His youngest grandchild is at junior school in Wivenhoe.
Having spent many years commuting to London, he now runs a small business from home. Mike’s family enjoy a wonderful quality of life in Wivenhoe, and he will work tirelessly to maintain and improve this quality of life for present and future generations of Wivenhoe residents.
Mike has been a Town Councillor for the last year and sits on the Planning Committee, with particular interest in all aspects of the Council’s property and estates portfolio.
He has campaigned enthusiastically against development on the few remaining green spaces in Wivenhoe, and will continue to do so.
With an interest in recreation and youth facilities, Mike has been part of the team successfully campaigning for outdoor gym facilities – the first of these will shortly be installed, with hopefully more to follow.
Mike is passionate about recycling and re-use, and is on the board of the Wivenhoe Repair Reuse Recycle project, and has actively supported the Wivenhoe Repair Cafe.
“My vision is that Wivenhoe should be represented on Colchester Borough Council by ordinary ‘Independent’ Wivenhoe residents, and not by the national parties working from national agendas.”
When elected we will conduct online polls on major issues and let you choose how we vote.
